Eastbourne is a seaside town and holiday resort right on the South Coast of England in the County of Sussex. The town is very often referred to as the “suntrap of the south” The reason for this is the microclimate that is created by the protection of the South Downs, beneath which the town nestles. The Eastbourne Silver Band itself is a group of very friendly, non-professional brass band players that are united and bound together by their interest and love of Brass Band music.

The band is well known to the thousands of holiday makers who come to Eastbourne during the summer, due to the regular appearances it makes on the iconic Bandstand throughout the summer months, where it presents many Sunday afternoon concerts and Wednesday evening “1812” fireworks concerts. The latter contain a varied programme of music and finish with a brass band version of the famous 1812 Overture complete with the fireworks display
